Seven Venice residents and one Mar Vista resident successfully completed Sunday’s L.A. Herbalife triathlon during the height of Carmageddon II weekend.
Fifty-year-old Clyde Rich was the only officially registered Mar Vista resident to complete the race with a time of 3:07:13, finishing in 431st place, and 39-year-old Rachael Babcock was the first Venice resident to cross the finish line with a time of 2:35:23.
While a total of 10 Venice residents entered the race, only seven successfully completed it.
The swimming, cycling and running competition began at Venice beach and ended in downtown Los Angeles.
The first place men’s winner was American Cameron Dye with a time of 1:46:57 and the first place women’s winner was American Alicia Kaye with a time of 1:57:57.
